The Siemens 6SE6440-2UD41-1FB1, part of the MICROMASTER 440 (MM440) series, is a 110 kW, three-phase 380-480 V general-purpose vector inverter with no built-in filter. Designed for industrial applications requiring high dynamics, high precision, and heavy-load starting, it utilizes IGBTs and a 32-bit microprocessor for closed-loop vector control, supporting full torque output at 0 Hz, a fast torque response of 0.12 seconds, and a speed accuracy of ±0.01%. This fully meets the requirements of equipment with extremely demanding dynamic performance, such as cranes, compressors, high-speed spinning, and conveyor lines.
The inverter features built-in Flux Current Control (FCC), slip compensation, flying restart, multi-step V/f, S-curve acceleration and deceleration, free function blocks, and PID auto-tuning. It easily implements processes such as constant pressure water supply, closed-loop air volume, tension winding, and positioning ramp deceleration, eliminating the need for an external PLC for common process control. The comprehensive protection system includes overload capabilities of 150% for 60 seconds and 200% for 3 seconds, as well as multiple monitoring functions including overvoltage/undervoltage, ground fault, short circuit, I²t motor overheating, stall, stall, and PTC thermistor. With removable "Y" capacitors, it can be used directly in IT grids or high-resistance grounding systems.
The unit features an FX-sized modular metal enclosure with isolated power and motor terminals and independent cooling ducts, ensuring safe operation within a 300 mm upper and lower clearance. The control terminals utilize screwless quick-connect connectors and come standard with 6 DI, 2 AI, 2 AO, and 3 relay outputs. The I/O board and operator panel are hot-swappable, allowing for on-site maintenance without downtime. A built-in brake chopper allows for four-quadrant rapid braking with an external brake resistor. Communication cards such as PROFIBUS, CAN, DeviceNet, and Ethernet/IP are supported, enabling seamless integration with S7, TIA, and third-party controllers. The 6SE6440-2UD41-1FB1 has been operating stably in numerous domestic projects, including energy-saving retrofits for fans and water pumps, 110 kW crane travel systems, injection molding machine servo oil pumps, and high-speed corrugated paper production lines.
