Product Overview
The ABB ZINT-7B1C+N8205 is a factory-tested upgrade kit that combines the latest ZINT-7B1C arc-flash relay with the N8205 high-sensitivity light and current sensor module. Designed for retrofit or new-build medium-voltage (≤ 40.5 kV) metal-clad and air-insulated switchgear, this plug-and-play solution detects arcing faults in < 2 ms and trips the upstream breaker to minimize equipment damage and personnel risk.

• ZINT-7B1C Main Unit
– 10 light + 2 current inputs per unit; expandable to 30 light points via fiber loops
– Selective zone tripping with configurable I/O (trip, alarm, lockout)
– SIL 2 / PL c certified; meets IEC 61850-9-2LE for digital substations
– Wide power supply 24–250 V AC/DC, dual hot-standby inputs
• N8205 Sensor Module
– Combined point light sensor (1.5 ms response) and split-core CT (5 A secondary)
– IP67 aluminum housing; –40 °C … +85 °C operating range
– Pre-terminated fiber-optic pigtail (2 m, 62.5/125 µm) for plug-and-play wiring
