The Bently Nevada 3300/53 Overspeed Detection System is a rack-based protection module engineered to prevent catastrophic failure of steam, gas, and hydro turbines caused by uncontrolled acceleration. Using triple-redundant speed inputs and two-out-of-three (2oo3) voting logic, the 3300/53 meets API 670 and IEC 61508 SIL 2/3 requirements with response times as fast as 40 ms. Whether you are modernizing an aging mechanical governor or adding an independent electronic overspeed trip, the 3300/53 integrates seamlessly with existing 3500 racks, System 1 software, and plant historians.
